Before setting up Wardhana & Co in 2020, Joe started his executive search career with Egon Zehnder in Singapore in 1995. He then moved back in 1998 to set up their office in Jakarta.

Egon Zehnder was Joe’s home and life for 22 years. The highlight for him, since becoming a Partner in 2001, always being his yearly personal meetings with Dr Egon Zehnder, his “pilgrimage” to learn and be inspired by his Guru.

Joe took early retirement from Egon Zehnder in December 2017 and accepted an invitation to be the People & Culture Director at PT HM Sampoerna Tbk/Philip Morris International, a long-term client since 1998. Prior to Egon Zehnder, he was Marketing Director at PT Coca-Cola Indonesia and Brand Manager with the Procter & Gamble Company in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Cincinnati, USA.

Joe also spent several years working with Indonesian companies in the ceramic and printing industry and as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Indonesia.
